​Pre-Requisites

Students interested in a secondary education program at the University of Delaware should refer to the University's First-Year Admissions Requirements Guide for specific information on high school English, mathematics, science and foreign language requirements.

Per the UD First-Year Admissions Application Checklist, please note that students interested in education-track majors within the areas of mathematics and the natural sciences have additional recommended coursework:

  • Prospective majors in mathematics and natural science should complete four years of mathematics, including trigonometry, pre-calculus and/or calculus.

  • Prospective majors in biology, chemistry, and physics are expected to take at least one year each of biology, physics and chemistry, and are strongly urged to take two years of a laboratory science.
